The Identicom i757 takes advantage of the Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the precise location of the lone worker wearing the Peoplesafe device. The positionings of the devices are recorded and sent to our 24/7 monitoring station. This can then be displayed against a map backdrop so the monitoring station can pinpoint the precise location of the device when it is being used, this is to the nearest couple of feet, hence it is much more precise than GSM location technology.
The device has the amber and red alert functions associated with all Identicoms. This enables users when using the amber alert function to leave a voicemail with our 24/7 monitoring station when checking in and out of meetings to ensure their safety. And red alert allows users to raise an alarm with the monitoring station and they will listen into the device live through the built-in microphone and track the situation. They will then follow escalation procedures to contact the relevant people, and if needed send for the emergency services. The use of GPS helps speed up this process.
