User Guide

The Peoplesafe service is designed to assist lone workers in cases of physical and verbal abuse. It can be used to record evidence of physical and verbal abuse and aid in the prosecution of offenders.

 

The Device

 

The device has 3 buttons:

• Red Alert

• Amber Alert

• Status  

 

• The RED ALERT button allows you to start and cancel a RED ALERT.

• The AMBER ALERT button allows you to record a message and countdown before RED ALERT. It also allows you to cancel an AMBER ALERT.

• The STATUS allows you to check the battery life and signal strength.

 

Start up and STATUS check

 

 

• To TURN ON the device press the STATUS and AMBER ALERT buttons at the same time. The device will vibrate ONCE.

• To TURN OFF the device press the STATUS and AMBER ALERT buttons at the same time. The device will vibrate TWICE.

Status

To check the battery life and signal strength press and hold the STATUS button until both LED’s flash red. After a short while the battery and LED’s stop flashing to indicate the following.

• GREEN – Good

• AMBER – Adequate                                                       

• RED – Poor

• FLASHING RED – No signal

 

Amber Alerts

• To start an AMBER ALERT press and hold the AMBER ALERT button. The device will vibrate 3 times. When the two LED’s turn AMBER and flash you can leave your message.

• When the device is one minute from the end of the amber alert period,  the device will vibrate 5 times to inform you that you have 60 seconds remaining until a RED ALERT is activated.

• To EXTEND the AMBER ALERT briefly press the AMBER ALERT button, the device will give one long vibration.

• To CANCEL the AMBER ALERT press and hold the AMBER ALERT button, the device will vibrate twice.

• To go to RED ALERT leave the device, as it goes into RED ALERT the device will begin to vibrate every thirty seconds to signify you are in RED ALERT.

 

 

Red Alert

There are 3 ways to begin a RED ALERT:

1. PRESS and hold the RED ALERT button in the middle of the device.

2. PULL/RIP the lanyard from the device.

3. AMBER ALERT counts down to zero.

• The device will vibrate 3 times to confirm the start of a RED ALERT. The device will then vibrate twice more to indicate the RED ALERT has been answered.

• The device will then vibrate every 30 seconds to inform you that it is still in RED ALERT.

 

• To CANCEL a RED ALERT activated by the RED ALERT button, press and hold the RED ALERT button. The device will vibrate twice.

• To CANCEL a RED ALERT activated by the PULL/RIP function, insert the RIP/PULL cord back into the device and press the RED ALERT button.
